Coloring Eggs

I dont know why, but we never manage to get eggs colored or even started before 10:00 PM. We were still doing eggs at 10:30. At that point I told them to just dump them in and finish up.

I even joined in and colored a few myself. We only had a few casualties with the eggs. They were dropping them in the color. Some of the eggs didnt even make it to the table. Katelyn dropped one of hers on the kitchen floor on her way to the table. We started with 36. Total egg count colored and very minimal cracks, 30. Not bad, huh?

Target Practice

Erik came over this weekend to spend Easter with us. Chance has been hounding me for a while to shoot the bow. So I thought this would be a good time, he and Erik could shoot together.

Chance still isnt able to pull the string back without using the ground.

Look at his eye. He is concentrating really hard on aiming.

Erik obviously had no problems pulling his back. His only problem was his hair with the wind.

Yay!!! They both hit the target! Chances is the top one, Eriks is the bottom.

Chance only ruined one arrow (I think). We managed to pull Eriks arrow out of the building and got the board nailed back on. Sorry Cleo. ;-) We had alot of fun though!

Good Friday

We had an amazing service at church tonight. It is called the Nailing of the cross. This is the third time we have done this and it is still just as amazing as the first. Pastor reads from the Bible about the days leading up to Jesus' death on the cross. He stops reading when Jesus is nailed to the cross and gives his life up for us. There is a wooden cross standing at the front of the church. We line up one by one and hammer a nail into the cross because it was also our sins that put Him there.

When that is done, Pastor takes a big spike and hits it with a hammer three times. It is a loud horrible sound. He says "that was one of Jesus' hands". He hits it three times again and says "His other hand", does it one more time and says "His feet". It brings tears to your eyes hearing that and thinking about what Jesus had gone through for us. We left feeling really quite horrible and sad. But one thing we know that the people back then didnt. SUNDAY IS COMING!!!!!!

All decked out....

When she left for school yesterday morning the only green she had on was the shirt and little plastic necklace. By the time she got home it looked like the little leprechans had attacked her.

Painted hair, bracelets, tattoos or some kind of green writing on her hands and whatever that wirey thing is in her hair (which the pieces are now all over the carpet). Sorry about the blurry picture. One of the kids took it.

Looks like she had a good time though, doesnt it? I dont ever remember going all out like that for St. Patricks Day. All we needed was to wear something green so we wouldnt get pinched. Do they even do the pinching thing anymore?

Cute huh?

Ski and Share

We had an amazing weekend! We took the youth up to Pomerelle for Ski and Share. Honestly I was not really looking forward to going. But I am so glad I did. We had a blast. The speaker was great, the band was great and the skiing was soooo much fun. I took my camera with me so I could have lots of picture for the blog and also make a slide show for the kids. The night we got there I forgot to bring the camera along to dinner and to services. I was a little upset but figured since there would be two more services it didnt make that much difference. But when we got up to Pomerelle the next morning and I realized I forgot my camera at the room, I was really ticked. There were no other chances to take pictures of the kids skiing. Wes was gracious enough to walk up the bunny hill and take a few pictures with his camera phone. I will post those pictures when he emails them to me. It might be a few days. So you would think I had learned my lesson and take the camera with me from then on right? Ya right, nope, I forgot it again. No camera for the the pizza dinner at the church or for the services that night. I finally managed to remember for the last breakfast and service.

This is the girls car.

Boys car....poor Breanna

This is what happens when you let the kids look at pictures already taken on the camera. They play. They had taken a bunch of funny pictures.

This is the band. The girls thought the guy who played bass was gorgeous. He's the one on the far left.

The kids are seven rows back. This is only a small portion of the youth that attended ski and share. There a alot more on both sides of the auditorium.

Like I said it was an amazing weekend. God was really working in the hearts of the youth and the adults. 23 kids accepted the Lord to be their savior, 32 rededicated their lives to the Lord and 15 surrended their lives to the ministry.
WOW!!

Frustrated.....

because I could not get this blog thing to work right. The last post about the dryer has been sitting in my drafts for hmmm....8 DAYS!! I could not get the pictures to download. It kept saying site not working try again in 30 seconds. After many times of trying I got frustrated and left it. Would come back the next day, same thing. When I tried again this morning the first picture downloaded but not the second. The page said not connected to blogger cant save draft. My internet shut off. When that happens we have to restart the computer. Well, it finally worked and I am back. Thats why it is posted today but the date is the 9th. Anyway, I'm done complaining now, moving on.

Surprise!!!!!

Isnt it funny (or not) how things work just fine until the person who knows how to fix everything is gone. Seems to be my luck lately. First the dryer, then the toilet and now the heater or thermastat; or whatever the heck is broke with the darn thing. Anyway things seem to be looking up. I fixed the toilet by myself and cleaned up the yucky mess (need I say, by myself). Got up enough courage to face a scary growling animal, or so thought, by myself. But today......wow what a surprise!!!! I came home after church to find this in the laundry room...

Yaaaay!!! No more trips to the laundry mat! Thanks mom and Fred! Your the best.

Perfect weather for.......

kite flying!!!! The wind was perfect. The sun was shining. But looks are deceiving. It was cooold! But they still had a lot of fun.

They had it up there pretty high. I couldnt get a close up of the kite and the kids.

This is when they started to bring it down. Chance was afraid it would break if it hit the ground.

He kept running around chasing it back and forth. He kept up pretty good.

Yeah!! Nice catch!!

What fun!!!!!
