The flowers are still alive!!

It has been 20 days and look at the difference. They are bigger and fuller. I might be able to pull this off yet. (fingers crossed)

Wow!! Look at the pansies.

I just planted these last week. I cant wait to see the progress these make in the next couple of weeks. I am really getting into this planting thing. Plus it gives me something else to look for at yard sales. Cool things to plant them in. I dont want just plain planters.

I got this cute wheelbarrow at a yardsale. I cant wait to see what else I can find.

Finally...

he is wearing glasses. He was so excited about them! He bugged me everyday after his appointment to call and see if they had come in yet. He has been wearing them for one week now and already has a battle scar. Just below his right eye there is a little cut. He was playing football with a friend and got hit in the face.

The glasses make him look so different. I told him they made him look like a boy who was really well behaved, listened to his teacher and didnt get into trouble at school. To which his reply was "ya...probably not gonna happen." Cant blame me for trying. ;-) It took me four tries to get the picture above. (without a goofy face) Now we just need to get him a haircut.

Green thumb...maybe...hopefully?

Ok, so maybe just not quite as brown. I have decided this year to do better with the flowers. (or atleast try) I planted the pansies Rosemary gave me in a basket. I had so much fun I wanted to do more! I really want this place to look nice and colorful. Katelyn and I spent all morning and part of the afternoon pulling weeds. Things are really starting to take shape.

These are the pansies I got from Rosemary. I got the basket at the thrift store. Pretty cool, huh? I am really getting into this.

I am still trying to learn what looks good with what, what has to go in the sun, what needs shade. I've had to replant some of them because they needed different things. I dont remember what these are but I think the flowers will be different colors. Obviously there will be blue and white but I think there will be pink and maybe red.

Oops, actually these are the pansies. I dont remember what those others are. But they like mostly shade. So I put them in the front of the house.

This one I really like. I think it is so pretty. It likes lots of sun so I dont have to worry about it so much. As long as I dont let it dry up.

Now I dont have to worry about planting something and leaving it when we move. I can just take them with us. I should have tried this along time ago. Hopefully I dont get too carried away though. (Now I need to focus on my house plants, they're looking pretty sad.)

14 years!!!

Where has the time gone? Can you believe we have been married 14 years already? Yet sometimes it seem like a lifetime ago. We were so different back then.
I'll never forget when Harry looked at this picture and thought it was from a previous marriage of mine. He didnt even recognize you.

I love how we have grown together over the years, closer now than we have ever been. We have had some rough patches along the way but God carried us through them. You are my best friend and I keep falling in love with you over and over again. You never cease to amaze me. I love that you know me so well. Today was a little hard being away from you for the first time on our anniversary, but I take comfort in knowing there will be soooo many more to come. I love you babe!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Wow...

I wasnt quite expecting this. I knew Dave had been working out while in Iraq. I knew he had been eating healthier. I also knew he had been losing weight.

But he didnt prepare me for this. All along he had been saying he was building muscle in his abs but couldnt really see it because of his belly.

WHAT BELLY??? He looks amazing! I am really proud of you babe!! (hmmm...I do believe that is my Seahawks shirt though.)

The top picture was taken not long after he arrived on the base. The second one was taken about 4 weeks ago. He was getting ready to take a ride in the Blackhawk to go to the other base. 4 weeks ago!!! I wonder what he looks like now.

Oh yeah!!! Gotta love those Seahawks!

Boy vs. treadmill...

who do you think won? After I made sure he was ok, I could not stop the giggles. He was at his friends house and was playing on the treadmill. The little sister turned the speed up on him and he fell. The dad just came by to see if he was ok, he hadnt realized until now what had happened. He knew Chance fell but didnt realize how bad.

You cant tell from the picture but there is an imprint of the treadmill track on his forehead. HA!

He even managed to bruise the side of his face and his shoulder. He said he didnt cry but he wanted to. Little tuffy.
The fingers on his right hand are a little swollen and the middle finger is scraped a little. He really did a number.

What great kids!!!!

I got a wonderful surprise when I got home from work. They all worked really hard to give me a great birthday party! The girls spent their own hard earned money. I had no idea any of this was going on. They decorated the house with Seahawk colors...

bought me a very beautiful bouquet of flowers...

and even baked the cake themselves. Katelyn had asked me what kind of cake I liked but I didnt think they were going to bake it and do all this.

What a great way to end a day. I even got a surprise party at work. So I was pretty full of cake and ice cream before I went to bed.
